It’s Good to Work at Regio

Numbers speak. People create.
At Regio, we have a long-standing tradition — once a year, we take a break to complete an employee satisfaction survey. For 17 consecutive years, we’ve asked ourselves a simple question: how are we really doing?
The survey is based on the First, Break All the Rules Q12 framework developed by Gallup. These questions have been used to study more than a million employees worldwide. The conclusion is straightforward: when the answers are mostly “yes,” people are motivated — and the company performs well. Clear logic.
We ask our team to evaluate the content and meaning of their work, opportunities for development, the work environment and safety. We also assess clarity of goals, work organisation, collaboration, compensation, recognition, sense of security, leadership, and change management.
In recent years, we have added an idea inspired by Kaido Pajumaa’s training „Töörõõmu sisemised allikad“ — asking employees to reflect on the company’s flowers, thorns, and buds: what is flourishing, what needs attention, and what is still emerging.
Our results compared to 2024 benchmarks
- Employee engagement index in the Estonian public sector: 72 points.
- Private sector average: 73 points.
- Regio’s result in 2024: 86.3 points.
And now — Regio’s 2025 result: 89.7 points. This is the best result in our company’s history!

Why Do We Conduct This Survey?
- So leaders can assess the state of the work environment.
- To track how employee satisfaction changes over time.
- To give management a clearer understanding of what’s happening in the company.
- To ensure anonymity, giving everyone the chance to answer honestly — even those who might otherwise stay silent.
Of course, we also use it to see where we can improve. For example, questions like “In the past week, I have been recognized or praised for good work” and “In the past six months, someone at work has talked with me about my development and achievements” have not yet reached maximum scores. This clearly signals that recognition and intentional development conversations should not be left to chance. We do a lot of great work — now we just need to make sure we consistently acknowledge it.
Perhaps the most interesting and informative part is the flowers, thorns, and buds section, where everyone can respond in their own words.
Flowers – what we value most:
- Flexible work arrangements and trust – the ability to plan your own working hours and location.
- Friendly work environment.
- Team events and gatherings that keep us connected, even with flexible work schedules.
For several years, thorns have not affected our values or people. They are mostly organisational issues, such as limited resources or the complexity of planning large projects.
Buds – areas for growth:
- Maintaining a strong internal culture.
- Actively supporting the development of new talent and future colleagues.
- Strengthening visibility and growth opportunities.
As Theodore Roosevelt once said:
“We must strive to be the best… and to be the best, we must work hard, make sacrifices, and be bold.”
It’s good to work at Regio — thanks to the people who come to work each morning with a positive attitude and dedication.
Thank you to everyone who is part of Regio!
And special thanks to Sumoor OÜ and Tõnu for conducting the survey.
